Time to get fit

It's saturday night, your best friend has been in Philly all day, your girlfriend is sleeping already and you don't want to leave her because she has a bum neck and is laid up for the weekend. What should you do??

I know what I did. I played Wii Fit. Yup I got it today. I got a copy from Catie's brother's finance. She had ordered a copy for him, but he went and bought it himself. Works for me.

I got in got Catie all set up and then went to get Wii Fit setup. For those that don't know Wii Fit is the new fitness game for the Wii (duh) that uses a balance board to control numerous exercises. Activities are grouped into one of 4 categories. Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. The three are all mainly exercises while balance games are more games then anything else.

When you start you choose you Mii and then go through a "body test" this is a short test that will give you what the Wii thinks your weight, BMI, and Wii age are. It said that my BMI was 25 which is slightly overweight (which makes your Mii look funny) and that my age was 28 which is correct. After I got that set up I played a couple balance games, some aerobic things and a short run. The games are kind of fun and the few aerobics that I did got me moving. Although I haven't played the game all that much I see the potential in it. If you are someone that wants to get a fun workout in and know how to put one together then this is a fun game. If you are looking for just a game then this will probably bore you fairly quick. Myself...I'm going to enjoy myself for a good time with this.

WATCHING...

The Orphanage: A great film directed by J.A. Bayona and produced by Guillermo del Toro. A ghostly story about a mother and her adopted son. Good story, filmed well everything was good until the last 10 minuets. Go watch it and let me know what you think.

The Strangers:
Ok I know that everyone wanted this to be the big scary film right now, but really it wasn't scary at all. Liv Tyler should not have been the main character in this film. It just didn't seem to ever pick up enough momentum. I can't really say much else about it.

Memorial Day Weekend...

First things first. I've added two things for all of you that read this. On the right you'll find a slide show of recent pics (now showing my trip pics) and on the left you'll find a twitter thing that will let you know what I'm up to on a more regular basis.

Ok now that that is out of the way I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post but there hasn't been much going on. Catie and I both decided that after our last Philly trip we were going to lay low and try and save some cash until memorial day weekend.

Well this past weekend was memorial day weekend and I'm glad I saved up the cash. It was a super awesome squared weekend full of driving, hotels, camping, lots of food and giant amusement parks.

We made plans to go to Ohio and Cedar Point amusement park. We also decided to camp while we were out there just for the fun of it. We left for out 8 hour drive around 2:30pm Friday afternoon and drove until we crossed into Ohio. We ended up grabbing a hotel room in Streetsboro Ohio. While staying here we got a stuffed crust white pizza with BBQ sauce. It...was...AMAZING!

The next day we got back on the road for last couple hours of the trip. We got into the campsite and set up and then headed out into town to check out the Merry-go-round museum. This wasn't really a museum at all. Some neat things, but not worth the trip really.

We then headed out to Cedar Point amusement park for a few hours that night. We had gotten 2 day passes so that we could check out the park a bit and kind of know where things were. The park is really nice and huge. They have 15 coasters and 9 thrill rides alone with the standard things. We were able to ride a couple coasters and check the out the layout of the park before heading back to the campsite, making a fire, and roasting a bunch of marshmallows.

The next day we headed to the park at open and started our insane journey to ride all the coasters. They have some of the most insane coasters that I have ever ridden. The craziest having to be the "top thrill dragster" which launches you off the platform reaching 120mph in 4 seconds before launching you 420ft straight up and the dropping you back down while rotating you 270 degrees. INSANE. We ended staying in the park until about 9pm and rode everything but 2 coasters that had 2 hour waits all day. We went back to the campsite again to build an even bigger fire and eat more marshmallows. That night the weather picked up and we dealt with heavy rains and high winds, but the tent held and it ended by the morning.

We did the entire trip back yesterday getting back into York in the early evening and crashing. If you ever get a chance to get out to Cedar Point you should.
