I will probably start forgetting what week I'm on with this at some point.

now for the pics! Moly_No's! Project 365

I did miss a day somewhere in all this, but that's ok I guess since it's a leap year (or so I've been told). I know that there will be days that I am to tired or stressed to get out there in a timely manner and I guess I need to get used to that and so will you.

This past week was pretty hellish. From work to personal life it wasn't pretty. It was a rough and busy week at work. To top it all off my car finally died. Well it didn't stop in it's tracks, but it tried to. On Thursday it decided it was a nice day to try and overheat. I stopped and took a look only to find out that I had NO coolant. This is odd since I did earlier. Well I got some and put it in and was able to get home. I took it to the shop and found out that coolant was leaking into my engine. This is not good if you don't know cars. It should go around and not in. This meant putting a large sum of money into a car that was not worth putting that much into at this point (this all happening TWO DAYS after paying the car off). So off it was to look for a new car. Once again I did not have that long to do this. Well I was out all day Saturday and after some grade A haggling I am the proud owner of a 2009 Toyota Corolla. Well i will be as of 6pm Tuesday. The car was traded in while I was looking through their used lot. It's pretty nice. Dark grey 21,000 miles. Good time. Nothing special this time. Noraml gas, wheel, etc. I'll have pics this week.

Enjoy the pics.

Project 365 Week 2

Well it's been about two weeks and I'm still doing this, so that's something. I hope that the people who may be checking in on this are enjoying it.

Moly_No!'s Project 365

This past week wasn't anything special. I got a new phone (my touch 3g) and am having fun with that. Screwed my shoulder up something good on Monday working out which was no fun. Other then that Monday through Thursday were the same old thing.

Then on Friday I headed up to Penn State to see Catie and we headed out to a bonfire that someone was having. They were burning 100 plus xmas trees. I didn't take my camera because other then Catie and her friend Whitney I didn't know anyone and did not want to be that kid that shows up, no one knows, and has a DSLR and tripod. I took a crappy shot with my phone. I promise you though that it was pretty awesome.

Saturday morning we woke up early to go out to breakfast with some people that Catie has class with and their friends. Then it was off to the local theater that I can't remember the name of to watch old Warner Bros. cartoons. Freaking awesome. They played an hour of them back to back on the big screen. Original copies. Awesome. The place was packed also with grown adults to young children. Ended up hanging out with some of the people from breakfast later in the night also for a few drinks and games.

Sunday was chill. Made dinner, watched movies, barley moved.

Enjoy the pics.

Project 365 January 1 - 10

Here is the first week of my attempt at a project 365

January 1st - 10th 2010

Happy Holidays Everyone

Well Xmas has come and gone now. I wanted to let anyone that reads this (???) that i am going to start doing a Project 365 for photography this coming year (2010). I will be posting everything in a collection on my Flikr page. If you would like to follow me or give me suggestions it would be great. Hopefully I will be starting it out with a trip to the <s>Mummers Day Parade</s>*.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new years.

*Looks like Philly is not going to happen because of the weather.

Welcome Back!

Well hello everyone (the two that read this anyway). I know it's been a long long time. It's been just as busy. Catie moved to State College to pursue her Masters in Rural Soc and I am stuck in Shrewsbury right now. Keep checking back for a string of post coming up about what I did if you care. For now though I thought that for now though that I'd let you know of some awesome music that has come out.

Three albums that have made me happy:

First we have Every Time I Die's: New Junk Aesthetic. This album (along with the other two in this post) is amazing. It's got the standard ETID feel to it, but is almost a perfect mix of their hardcore style and southern rock styling that they have been leaning towards with recent albums. From the opening track (Roman Holiday) where they use only about 3 chords and stay pretty slow to the steady beat and harcore feel of After One Quater of a Revolution. This albums never really lost me. One of my favorites from them. If you have enjoyed the past two albums from ETID or even if you enjoyed them years ago then check this out.

Now onto Converge's: Axe to Fall. What can you say that hasn't already been said about Converge? Not to much. I haven't met someone that has not fallen in love with this album. And from all three members of Genghis Tron who wrote and played on it to Steve von Till of Neurosis who plays keyboards on the last track and members of Cave who also contribute to the album you can see why. It's been said that this is their best work since Jane Doe and I have to agree. Check this out no matter what type of metal or hardcore or whatever you listen to.

Finally for these three albums is Between the Buried and Me's: The Great Misdirect. This album is the bands follow up to their album Colors. It follows suit with only 6 tracks which range from 3 minuets to 17 minuets a piece. BTBAM once again move from one style of music to another with easy sometimes within one track or just from one track to another. That being said, as of right now and only about 3 or 4 listens under my belt I like Colors more right now. Don't get me wrong, this is a great album so far and Colors also grew on me to the point of loving every second of listening to it. Right now this album is just missing that special something that Colors has. You should still give this a couple listens though. Make sure you have the time to listen to it in one sitting.

So there is something for you to read. I'll have more soon hopefully. Enjoy.

Puppies!!!

Check em' out!

Flikr Puppies!

Ours will be the one that is black and white. Things have been busy or I have been lazy. Either way I do plan on staying on top of things.

This past week has been fairly slow, but I like it that way every now and then. I don't plan on it picking up anytime soon and that's fine. In a couple of weeks I'll have little to no free time and will start to travel a good bit. I am looking forward to all the stuff the summer is bringing my way this year like camping, theme parks and beaches.

This past Sunday Catie and I went out to King of Prussia to see the new Pixar film UP. We also just wanted to get out of York for a day. It's never a bad drive to get out there and it was totally worth it. If you don't know already UP is a film about an old man that uses a ton of balloons to move his house to South America in honor of his wife. After he "launches" the house he realizes that he has a stowaway in the form of a portly little kid. The story goes from there and I don't want to give to much away. We were able to catch a showing in 3D. I'm not a huge fan of 3D normally unless it's a carnival ride, but this was awesome. Instead of using the 3D to make things pop out and have things thrown at you, the director decided to use it more for depth then anything else and it works great. Go check it out.

From Conor's Bolg:
I like this. I agree with a lot of it. Let the Dominoes Fall. It's a rancid album. That's the best way to describe it. You never really know what you are going to get, but you know that it will at least kind of sound like what you know. This album has all types of different sounds. If you have followed any of the side projects especially Tim Armstrong's A Poet's Life then the new album won't be a huge surprise. I have listened to it twice and like it. It grows on you each time. Now the album comes in a regular and deluxe. I know that normally deluxe albums can be a rip-off but this one was not. The full CD, and acoustic version of twelve of the songs and a DVD containing a documentary. All this plus 3 posters for $12.00! Good in my book. If you like Rancid's album Indestructible then you'll probably like it.

Ok that's that. Now check back later this week to catch pics of our new puppy! Alos maybe my review of The Hangover! I loved this car. the body style was only made in 1999 and 2000 and it was a great car. Never any major problems with it and then ones it had were not expensive. Then one morning when I go to go to work my car is missing. I freak out. I freak out good. I think of everything that could have happened. Did it get repossessed? Did I not park it were I thought I did? I didn't want to think about it getting stolen, but that was what happened.

About a week later I got a call from the police saying they found my car in a field not to far from my place. It had been stolen and stripped down to almost just the frame. I went to see it and it was a shell of what it had been. No motor, wheels, stereo, transmission. They took everything including my ipod and digital camera I had in there and some CD's. To add insult to this they had eaten some breakfast bars I had in there and left the wrappers for me to see. I have pics of this, but not digital.

Well luckily I have good insurance and got a large amount of money from them. Enough to pay off the rest of my loan and still get a good down payment on another car. I decided to look for something other then a Honda because I seemed to have bad luck with them between this incident and flipping my 2001 Civic (which is another story). So I set out on the internet looking for something that I liked and was cheapish.

I stayed up one night and stumbled across a Nissan. I had looked at Nissan when I got my SI but it was to expensive back then. This time around it was not. I found a silver 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. More horse power, more torque. I was OK with the body. So Nissan it was.

Well The car was doing fine. I have about eight months left of payments on it and now it's just shitting out on me. First I needed new tires. OK that comes with time. BUT I have 17 inch low profile tires which ended costing about $110 a piece. Then the brakes needed to be replaced. OK another thing that wears down. Fine. Well I had to down grade my brakes because of money. So no more high performance brakes for Molyneaux. Then I decide to be an idiot in Maryland and hit a curb. Well that cost me two new tires and a new rim. I find out that my rims are $650 a piece new. That means that it would cost me over $3,000 if I ever had to replace everything! Luckily I found a used rim for only $250. Hitting a curb ended up costing me close to $700.

Well this brings me to last night. I was coming home from Catie's and taking the back roads. I'm going down a hill and making a turn when I hear POP! and then no more air in my tire. I saw nothing so I thought my tire just blew out. Turns out there is a pot hole that is on the side of the road and slightly sticking out. Enough to catch my tire. Well I guess my car is made of aluminum because somehow it blew my tire and BENT MY FUCKING RIM! Now I have to get a new rim on my passenger side. It takes a week for the rim to come in. FUCK!

I want to get rid of this fucking car. I want something simple. Nothing fancy. I'm down with the part of my life. First let me say that I am sorry for the "Tauzin" sized post. I will try to keep them smaller. Ok now to the non-important things. I am done with classes at YTI and am now working at Advance Business Systems, which is simply the best company I could work for right now. That's pretty much what's going on.

Now to the important stuff. This past weekend Catie and I drove down to Holly Spring, NC to see my sister Kelly and her husband Jimmy. They have lived down there for about 3 or 4 years I think and this is the second time I have ever been down to see them. I'm such a good brother.

We left about 7am on Friday and drove to Natural Bridge, VA as a side trip. We found a road side attraction there that made us drive an extra two and a half hours out of our way. Now what would make me do that. I spend enough time in my car every week that when the weekend rools around I want nothing to do with it. So once again what could this road side attraction be? DINOSAURS in the CIVIL WAR! Yes you read that correct. It WOULD have been awesome, but we couldn't really find any info for it, so we took our chance and it was closed. Most of the attractions were closed, but we still got a couple pictures.

This was outside the main building.

And he was just inside the main building.

This was the sign that lead you up the hill to where the monster museum and Dino kingdom were.

This is the enterance to the monster museum. Funny story. The fence to the right didn't wrap around. So we decided to walk in and see what we could see. So we park the car in a place hidden from the road and go in and start walking up the hill. Right about the time we get to the top we hear sierens start to wail. Needless to say we both bolted to the car and drove away.

I want to go back. There is a lot to do. They have things like Foamhenge. You know you want to go also.

Now onto North Carolina. No more then 10 minuets down the road we see this.
Just in the middle of a town, still ready for the holidays. I pulled over to take a picture and people gave ME a look for taking a picture of the dinosaur in the middle of the town.

Ok so NOW onto North Carolina. The rest of the drive was alright. Hit a bit of traffic, but not bad. We get there, sit down for about an hour or so and then out to the city. Kelly and Jimmy took us to a museum to see the history of Raleigh NC in pictues. It was nice, but the place was packed full of people and a lot of hipsters. We walked around saw everything, and left. Then we went next door to a resturant named the "Big Easy". One guess want type of food they served. We all got a drink, and ordered some of the best food I had had in awhile. We got crab poppers, which were like little spicy, cheesey crab cakes, alligator bites, crab pretzel & lobster raviolli. It was delicious. We were going to go from there to a bar, but that didn't work otu to well and we ended up just going home and crashing.

The next day we woke up to find out that my sister has some of the most uncomfortable pillows known to man. My neck was trashed. A hand full of Advil helped out thouth and we headed out toa HUGE flea market. It reminded me of the world's largest yard sale. We all walked out with something. I was able to find a new camera for my collection. I got a Kodak instmatic from 1973 with flash cube. We left there to go into Apex I think for some pizza and beer and then back to the house for some rest before we went and saw Watchman. I have my veiws and opinions for the movie, but haven't been able to get them organized enough to write about it. Short answer, I really enjoyed the movie, I love the grpahic novel.

Sunday we woke up to a pancake breakfast which may seem nice, but it was in preperation to the 5 mile hike awaiting us. We took a 5 mile hike around a beautiful lake.

One of the first things I saw when we got onto the trail was this.....

It was a very nice hike. Cool wind coming in from the water almost the whole time. We did the whole thing in about 2 hours. Then it was time to get some food and get on the road. We made it back to Catie's in about six and a half hours. I dropped her off and made my way home. It was a long weekend and a lot of driving, but it was all worth it. Thanks to Kelly and Jimmy for housing us for the weekend and primarily feeding us. Looking forward to doing it again.

Here are some more pictures of the lake......

There is a nuclear power plant on the lake.

Marsh-like areas

These are some amusing places that Catie and I thought you may like

And FINALLY this is what Catie does to me in Little Big Planet

P.S. There were many reason for this and I;m not going to get into it. 2009 is upon us though and with that I want to get back to updating this on at least a bi weekly basis. Preferably on a weekly basis. So make sure to check on a weekly basis. I plan on updating on Sunday's so try Monday and see what's been going on that week. Hope to see everyone around and I hope that everyone has a great 2009.

A quick rundown to get those who care up to date. I have about 3 weeks of classes left, and then I will be starting a job with Advance Business Systems in Hunt Valley Maryland. This of course means I will be leaving Borders after 2 and a half years. Catie and I are still doing great. She is a wonderful lady and I could not ask for anyone better. That's all for now.

Check back sunday and see what's going on.

Another reason to hate Sony

Yesterday I got the "new XboX experience. We finally may have a chance to do something different in this country. 338 to 156 what else is there to say. The people, no matter how many McCain and Nobama signs I saw, have spoken and seem to say "hey we've had enough of this, lets try to move forward". It's a nice change to see the person I voted for win. I feel a sense of relief for the country right now.

Now I'm not saying that everything is going to magically change by summer 09, but I think that depending on the cabinet some things can start to move forward. Go read Joe Fourhman's post about the election. I follow his feelings a bit in that I didn't completely hate McCain. I did however HATE Palin. I'm glad that she'll be gone for a bit. I'm sure she'll sho her head again, let it be 4 or 8 years.

To put this simply I'm glad for what happened yesterday. I think that things will be bumpy for a bit, but in the long run of all this it will be a great thing for America. I think that this is a chance to show other countries that we're not a bad country, just one that has lost its course. This is an exciting time and I hope that it all ends well.

Lets see if I lose any friends over this post. Why do you think that if you show up at 12:31 in the afternoon that you'll be able to a signature? Just to give you a heads up, people have jobs and that means that they are not normally around home at that time of day. When people pay for 1 day shipping on something they need for the weekend they should be able to get it within that time period not on Monday or Tuesday just because you can't figure out that people probably be home at that time. Fuck you UPS!

Love,
Molyneaux

Just to make this clear. I ordered a couple things on Amazon and one on another site. The ones one Amazon were a flash and a diffuser for said flash. I got them on Amazon because no one in the area could match the price, but I needed it for this weekend to shot some stuff with so I choose one day shipping (which was still over $20 cheaper then anyone around here). UPS decides to deliver everything at 12:31 this afternoon while I'm not even close to home and require a signature. I call and they tell me that I have to drive to Emigsville after 6:30pm to pick it up. To me this is bullshit. I paid for one day delivery and now have to waste my own fucking gas to pick it up. They said they would try again on Monday, but I won't be around then, or Tuesday, or anytime during the week....I'm in school and work full time. If they need a signature, then fucking tell me beforehand so I know when I need to set something up for someone to be at my place. Fuck you UPS.

Birfday Time

Well it was that time of year again. For about the past 8 or 9 years I haven't had any interest in celebrating my birthday at all. I see no reason why people should congratulate me for being smart enough to live another year.

Well this year would prove to be different. Catie would see to that. She put together a whole day of things to do, making sure that I had a good time. It all started after I got out of school and got home. She promptly had me open some cards that had come in the mail and then gave me presents. I got the 25th anniversary Nightmare Before Christmas and the Tamrac Adventurer 7 camera bag. Then it was off to lunch at Mexitaly. We tried to play some mini golf but the couple courses we checked were closed, so we just came back to my place and watched the extras on the Nightmare Before Christmas disc. Then it was back out for an evening of food and baseball. We went out to the Harp and Fiddle and then over to a York Revolution game. I want to go back to the Harp and Fiddle again to get drinks, the food was good, but I love the selection of drinks they have. I had never been to a game there before and have to say that it was enjoyable. They got cremated, but it was still a good time and I got to see fireworks after the game which is always cool. After that we came back to my place again and hung out with Tauzin, Caleb, Autumn, their friend James, and Jordan (of pandas fame). Lots and lots of Rock Band went on.

It really was a good day. I never really thought I would enjoy my birthday again, but Catie showed me that I can. Time to head out to the fair grounds and eat yourself stupid while watching some of the best York has to offer. Honestly for growing up in York county I haven't been to the fair that much. I think I've gone out a total of 4 or 5 times now in my 28 years here. Catie and I headed out this year though to eat and play some games. The food is over priced, but good at least. We had orangeade, pumpkin funnel cake, gyros, corndogs, fried oreos, and candy. All while playing cheap carnival games and laughing at everything.

Here are some pics from Sunday night. It all started with the purchase of my Nikon D80. I have been looking at these for at least 2 years and finally had the money for it. Simply put I love it. I got the kit with the 18-135 lens included and am looking at a couple of other lens, primarily the Sigma 105mm f2.8 and Nikon 70-300 f4.5/5.6. Can't wait for that Sigma.

Also yesterday Catie and I went out to Columbia to Burning Bridges. It's a really nice antique shop that is three huge floors. Lots of things to look at and lots of things to buy. I was able to find four antique cameras. I like my old cameras, and like them even more if they work. Three of the four of these work fine, and one just needs to be cleaned thoroughly. One 35mm, Two 620mm, and One 120mm.

Hershey Happy

Went to Hershey Park again. This time it was with Catie, Jeremy, and Lauren. We decided to get there early and get out of there early. This was a good choice since that place was packed. We got there about 10am and went straight to the back of the park to get onto the wooden coasters without a line. We then went to check out the new coaster Fahrenheit, it was only 11ish and the line was already at a 2 HOUR WAIT! Seriously that's just ridiculous. Needless to say we skipped that one. We walked around for a bit, rode some coasters and a few spinning rides and then decided that it was time to leave. It was hot and crowded. We stopped by Chocolate World on the way out which is the same old thing. Catie and I got some funny pictures on the rides this time out, but they are all so expensive to buy. It's like $10 for a 4x6 print. Boo to that. I've been super busy that's why! Now lets sit back and listen to me type.

On July 22nd Catie and I went down to Myrtle Beach for about 4 days. We left at 4pm on Tuesday after work and got down there around 2am Wednesday morning. It was a really nice and needed break. We did a bunch of touristy stuff while down there. The first night down there we all went to the Liberty Steak House for dinner. Needless to say it was amazing food and beer.

This is the first thing you see when you get there

They do Love America

I opened the menu to find that the still served "Freedom Fries"

I had to have me some "Freedom Fries"

After a plate of fries some popcorn buffalo shrimp and a delicious oatmeal porter beer.

Needless to say it was all delicious and we ended up going back a second time a couple days later. If you're ever in Myrtle Beach check out Liberty Steak House.

When we got back I started getting ready for another big thing that happened. I started packing for THE BIG MOVE! Well not that big. I have moved back in with Tauzin again. We found a totally sweet place. 1500 square feet, finished basement, covered back porch, the works. So that's been a pain in my ass, but luckily I've had Catie with me this whole time. I could not I repeat NOT have done this without her. She has put up with me being a cranky asshole for more then a week and still will lay next to me and cuddle. She's the bestest.

Update:Check out my flickr on the right there to see some pics of the new place as I'm fixing it up.

Other then that things have been the normal. I started my 5th term of school a few weeks ago. This is the hardest term that we have and it's already showing. I don't remember being this worried about school since I started. Fingers crossed that I get through without killing my GPA.

Music: Give Defiance, Ohio a listen to. Think of a folkier less poetic version of Cursive's "Ugly Organ". Cursive meets Against Me!....not to bad.

Movies:
Just Add Water - Standard little film about a nice guy living in a down and out town. He gets picked on and put down from every angle except for the grocery store clerk. Staring Jonah Hill, Justin Long, Danny Devito, and Dylan Walsh.

The Onion Movie - Based around the Onion Paper. Basically a bunch of short "funny" clips strung together through a news anchor. There is a small plot somewhere in the background. I thought it was going to be much funnier then it was.

Persepolis - A great animated story about a young Iranian girl during the Islamic revolution. Really a great film. I did not expect to get as much out of this film as I did. Definitely check it out.

30 Days of Night - During 30 days of pure night a small Alaskan town is attacked by Vampires. Doesn't sound like much, but it turned out to be a great vampire film. I rented this down in Myrtle Beach to watch and expected to want to turn it off half way through, but never wanted to. The ending was a bit weak, but man did it have some good gore in it.

21 - The movie about a group of MIT students that counted cards in Vegas. Staring Jim Sturgess, and Kevin Spacey. I really like gambling and poker, so I really enjoyed this film. Good story, but I'm not sure if someone not into poker would enjoy it as much.

Step Brothers - So far the FUNNIEST MOVIE of the summer. It's about two 40 something guys who still live with their parents. Their parents get married and thusly the two guys become step brothers. The plot is nothing special or deep, but we laugh through about 90% of that film. It was great. Starring Will Farrel and John C. Riley.

I'll leave you with this....it is completely real!

iPhone Only

I put a lot of thought into it. Spent countless hours reading articles on the interweb about it and spent hours trying to justify it. Then I just went for it. Yesterday I got a new iPhone 3G. Yes I was in the line at the mall, not first thing in the morning, I had school to attend, but at 12pm as soon as I was able to leave said school. The line wasn't bad in York. I spent about 15 minuets or so in the line and then another 10 or 15 talking to an AT&T salesperson about things then back out the door.

Originally AT&T was going to be activating the phones in the stores to try and prevent jailbreaking and reselling of the phones this time around, but that didn't work out as planned. They started having problems first thing in the morning in the U.S. There were so many stores trying to activate so many phones that they basically crashed the system. So they resotred to the same thing they did last year and sent people on their way to activate at home. Well this got me in and out of the store quickly enough, but when I got home it took OVER AN HOUR to activate. Which means I sat around plugged in the phone, waited for iTunes to time out unplugged the phone and repeated.

At least I was able to get one. Over in the UK Apple's flagship Regent Street store Apple staff couldn't access the O2 phone network's activation system(from crave). People could not get an iPhone because O2's system runs on Windows and requires Microsoft's Internet Explorer and the store was only running macs.

Epic fails at the UK 3G iPhone launch

|

CNET.co.uk videos

Anyway, I got it activated and synced up. iTunes lets you make a backup of your iPhone and when I plugged in the new one it asked if I want to start new or restore from backup. I choose restore and a few minuets later I had my new phone ready to go with all the settings, contacts, calenders, alrams etc... exactly the way I had them on the old one. It even restored my text messages.

Once I got that all taken care of and some new music on it, it was time to play. With the new phone came new firmware. Which for the most part allowed you to add third party apps to your phone finally. There are a lot to choose from ranging from stupid to awesome, boring to fun and expensive to FREE. I got a bunch of them, only paying for two (monkey ball and band). So far they seem to work well. I got standard things like AIM, twitterific and a flickr thing. They also had some very nice and free translators. Basiclly they consist of common phrases that you made need to ask while traveling. You choose what you would liek to say and then it is spoken through the phone. The apps are made by anyone really so I'm assuming that they'll be coming out in steady intervals.

I haven't been able to try out the 3G part of the phone yet, seeing as York is not 3G yet, but I have seen the "GPS" and I think it'll be alright for the most part. It's not a true GPS really, but it's a hell of a lot better then what was on the first gens.

All in all I'd say i'm very happy with my decision. It's a sleak looking, comfortable phone that does more then most, yet still lacks in common areas. I can let those slide though since it's things I wouldn't really use much. I'll keep you posted on things as I find them out.

UPDATE: I forgot about the Remote app. It lets you control your Apple TV or iTunes over a wireless signal. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Time for the Devil

I ran down to Towson this morning to go to the apple store and for some reason I felt like stopping into HotTopic. The drive up took about 8+ hours and traffic wasn't to bad until you hit Connecticut itself. Once you cross that state line it's bumper to bumper. We finally got there though and pretty much had enough time to change and head out to dinner at a small Mexican place down the street. From there we headed to a small bar way out of the way and then back to another bar called the Red Door. It was a very long day that ended in odd ways.

The next day we went to Foxwoods Casino for a day of gambling. It was pretty cool. Spent most of the time with Catie and Laura at the slots. Monopoly slots are fun, well the bonus games are fun I should say.

We left about three on Sunday and made it back in a record 5 hours. Less then 5 really and I didn't speed at all. There wasn't any traffic was all. On the way back we stopped at Blue Colony Diner and got some giant pastries which were delicious. It was a really nice trip, very busy times, but fun, and it was nice to meet laura.

WATCHING:

Wall-E: Great film from pixar again. The main plot is about a small robot named Wall-E that has been left on an Earth that has been deserted. He then falls for another robot (e.v.e) that is left on his planet by a mysterious space ship. When the spaceship comes back for e.v.e. Wall-E stows away to be with her and things happen. Go see it.

Wanted: CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! It's still hard for me to make my mind up on this one. It stars James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie as professional assassins. It starts out strong and stays that way for a good portion of the film, but at some point stumbles. I'll say the two main points will be the "Loom of Fate" and the "I'm Your Father" bullshit. It's good for the other 75% of the film and it's worth seeing on the big screen if you can. Go see a matinée.

Weeds Season 3: If you haven't watched season one and two of this awesome show then go rent them NOW! Weeds put simply revolves around Nancy Botwin. Her husband has just passsed and to make ends meet she starts selling weed. Take my word for it this show is amazing and each season leaves you hanging. Season three does not let down. When it starts you think everything is going to end and they carry that feeling through-out the season. Rent It Now. Season 4 just started on Showtime.

Time to get fit

It's saturday night, your best friend has been in Philly all day, your girlfriend is sleeping already and you don't want to leave her because she has a bum neck and is laid up for the weekend. What should you do??

I know what I did. I played Wii Fit. Yup I got it today. I got a copy from Catie's brother's finance. She had ordered a copy for him, but he went and bought it himself. Works for me.

I got in got Catie all set up and then went to get Wii Fit setup. For those that don't know Wii Fit is the new fitness game for the Wii (duh) that uses a balance board to control numerous exercises. Activities are grouped into one of 4 categories. Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. The three are all mainly exercises while balance games are more games then anything else.

When you start you choose you Mii and then go through a "body test" this is a short test that will give you what the Wii thinks your weight, BMI, and Wii age are. It said that my BMI was 25 which is slightly overweight (which makes your Mii look funny) and that my age was 28 which is correct. After I got that set up I played a couple balance games, some aerobic things and a short run. The games are kind of fun and the few aerobics that I did got me moving. Although I haven't played the game all that much I see the potential in it. If you are someone that wants to get a fun workout in and know how to put one together then this is a fun game. If you are looking for just a game then this will probably bore you fairly quick. Myself...I'm going to enjoy myself for a good time with this.

WATCHING...

The Orphanage: A great film directed by J.A. Bayona and produced by Guillermo del Toro. A ghostly story about a mother and her adopted son. Good story, filmed well everything was good until the last 10 minuets. Go watch it and let me know what you think.

The Strangers: Ok I know that everyone wanted this to be the big scary film right now, but really it wasn't scary at all. Liv Tyler should not have been the main character in this film. It just didn't seem to ever pick up enough momentum. I can't really say much else about it.

Memorial Day Weekend...

First things first. I've added two things for all of you that read this. On the right you'll find a slide show of recent pics (now showing my trip pics) and on the left you'll find a twitter thing that will let you know what I'm up to on a more regular basis.

Ok now that that is out of the way I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post but there hasn't been much going on. Catie and I both decided that after our last Philly trip we were going to lay low and try and save some cash until memorial day weekend.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lTDpkO9PG8o/SDxU6lUiDYI/AAAAAAAAABY/agLDt0qg0RI/s200/CIMG0289.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205128634760826242" />
Well this past weekend was memorial day weekend and I'm glad I saved up the cash. It was a super awesome squared weekend full of driving, hotels, camping, lots of food and giant amusement parks.

We made plans to go to Ohio and Cedar Point amusement park. We also decided to camp while we were out there just for the fun of it. We left for out 8 hour drive around 2:30pm Friday afternoon and drove until we crossed into Ohio. We ended up grabbing a hotel room in Streetsboro Ohio. While staying here we got a stuffed crust white pizza with BBQ sauce. It...was...AMAZING!

The next day we got back on the road for last couple hours of the trip. We got into the campsite and set up and then headed out into town to check out the Merry-go-round museum. This wasn't really a museum at all. Some neat things, but not worth the trip really.

We then headed out to Cedar Point amusement<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lTDpkO9PG8o/SDxVm1UiDZI/AAAAAAAAABg/cIiuHwDh1SI/s200/CIMG0262.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205129394970037650" /> park for a few hours that night. We had gotten 2 day passes so that we could check out the park a bit and kind of know where things were. The park is really nice and huge. They have 15 coasters and 9 thrill rides alone with the standard things. We were able to ride a couple coasters and check the out the layout of the park before heading back to the campsite, making a fire, and roasting a bunch of marshmallows.

The next day we headed to the park at open and started our insane journey to ride all the coasters. They have some of the most insane coasters that I have ever ridden. The craziest having to be the "top thrill dragster" which launches you off the platform reaching 120mph in 4 seconds before launching you 420ft straight up and the dropping you back down while rotating you 270 degrees. INSANE. We ended staying in the park until about 9pm and rode everything but 2 coasters that had 2 hour waits all day. We went back to the campsite again to build an even bigger fire and eat more marshmallows. That night the weather picked up and we dealt with heavy rains and high winds, but the tent held and it ended by the morning.

We did the entire trip back yesterday getting back into York in the early evening and crashing. If you ever get a chance to get out to Cedar Point you should.

For Seriously PA??

Well it's Wednesday April 23rd and that means that yesterday was the Pennsylvania primary's. For those who don't follow these things the past six weeks have been filled with Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama tossing punches back and forth at each other day in and day out. I'll also let you all know that as of right now I'm on the side of Obama. I'm going to just leave it there saying I just don't like or trust Clinton. Well at the end of the day yesterday PA residents choose Clinton over Obama and while I'm not surprised, I am disappointed. I know that Pennsylvania is a "red" state but I thought in a primary like this even we could see through the bullshit. Oh well we still have the next two contests on May 6 in Indiana and North Carolina. So while it may be over here, there is still hope out there.

In other news:

I've started playing disc golf (frisbee golf) lately. I've gone out with Bekah a couple times and have to say I've throughly enjoyed it. It's a great sport if you like frisbee and walking through the woods and parks. If you are interested in it check out these sites...

Disc Golf Course Review

Choosing the Right Golf Disc

Movie Time:

I've been watching a decent amount of movies again lately and still have plenty to still watch.

American Splendor:
A movie about the life of Harvey Pekar the author of the underground comic American Splendor. Although that doesn't really sound interesting it is. The movie was great. I know I may be a bit bias since I like comics and especially underground comics so much, but it was a great film either way. Paul Giamatti does a great job with Harvey Pekar. Check it out if you like comics or not.

-Ordinary life is pretty complex stuff.-

Semi Pro:
Another stupid comedy staring Will Ferrell. If you like his other films check this one out.

There have been other's, but I haven't been keeping up on them, so sorry I'll work on that.

School Days:

Again for those who have been keeping up with my schooling. I finished my 3rd term at YTI this past Monday. I know 3 out 4 of my grades right now. I was able to pull a B in my linux class somehow. I know NOTHING about linux still, because the teacher was a waste of space, but I got the grade somehow. I also got an A in my speech class and an A in web development. So far not to bad. I'm hoping for a B in my Data Comm class, but it all depends on my presentation, so we'll see.

The Color of Mouth Vomit...

Quote of the day:
All I need is ice cream, metal, and Ryan....

I think that sums up the day on saturday. Catie and I went to Philly for a day trip of wondering around the city. It was a fun trip again, but way to short and a little to cold.

I had a whole post written out about philly and the rest of the weekend, but remembered that I need to start writing more interesting stuff. So out with that and in with other shit.

Recently found music:
I went to Relapse Records while in Philly and found some great stuff.

-Cattle Decapitation: Homovore (limited color vinyl)
I don't know why I like these guys so much, but I do. This album was released all the way back in 2000 and was limited to 666 copies of Diarrhea of the Mouth colored vinyl. If you like grindy death metal and are not a big fan of humans, check this out.

-Ed Gein: 3 Track Demo & It's a Shame That a Family Can be Torn Apart by Something as Simple as a Pack of Wild Dogs:
I've had a copy of this cd for years now and I still listen to it on a fairly regular rotation. It's just three kids giving it there all and damn if they don't know how to rock out. All three of them scream and they use clips from Donnie Darko between each track. Once again if you like grindy noise stuff this is an album to check out.

-Misery Index / Mumakil: Ruling Class Cancelled
I'll be honest I don't know anything about Mumakil. I got this split because of Misery Index. Good metal with a splash of grind tied in. Haven't listened to the Mumakil side yet but will let you know what i think of it when I do.

-Check out Misery Index: Dissent-

I also ended up braking my no comic rule during the trip and ended dropping a tad to much money out there on them, but got some great stuff like the new release of Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke", Fell #9 (which i've been waiting for for months) and my norms like The Walking Dead, Invincible etc.

The day trip was great 6 hours flew by and i can't wait to go back in April when it should be warmer.

Sunday we went and saw "Horton Hears A Who". It was really good. Excellent voice acting from all great animation. Also I want the weird little character Katie from the movie, it was awesome.

How can you not like that.

PICTURE TIME!

My sister's dog Reese

I am evil Homer, I am evil Homer

Easter Eggs

Ok I swear that after this one I'll be done for the time being, or until something else happens that I feel the need to blog about.

Tonight Catie and I colored easter eggs. The machine society was divided into two diametriclly opposed camps: the heroic Virtubots and the evil Deciocons.

When Ubertron, undisputed leader of the Deviocons, gained control of the Bigspark he used its raw power to destroy Substandrotron, scattering both the Virtuobots and Deciviocons across the universe.

In search of a new home, Positivus Prime, leader of the noble Virtuobots located a remote planet called Earth. However, Ultratron and his wicked Deceovocon army followed, thus continuing the war here on Earth. -

I hope you enjoyed this. I know it made me laugh a bit.

New Beginnings

Well it looks like I'm going to be starting a new one of these over here. I'm doing this for various reasons and will hopefully be able to keep this one updated more often and less depressing then my past blogs. So lets get started.

This first post is going to be a tad long, and I appologize for that. They won't all be this bad, but hey I've got a lot to catch up on. It's been about 6 weeks since my last post. So so much has happened in the past six weeks. I'm in what seems to be the hardest term yet in school. I'm doing alright so far though. I was looking a little rough for a couple of the weeks, but i've gotten back on my feet and have another six weeks to go.

February brought a lot with it between school, work, flower show, and new people I stay very busy throughout. I almost quit borders and went back to Ritz Camera, but decided not to at the very last minuet because borders gave me some nice pluses. So I'm still at Borders but am slightly happier then i thought i could be there.

The end of February brought along some of the biggest things of the month. One of these was the annual Mid-Atlantic Garden Show. It went very smooth this year, and was fun for the most part. I'll post some pics, when I get the uploaded. The other big thing in February is that I started hanging with and ended up dating Catie. She is completely awesome. I can't really belive that it's happening, but it is and it's good. How good you ask? She showed up here on Tuesday and suprised me with this:
That's right 12 year aged Jameson. This equals the best whiskey I have ever had. I admit that I have only had 3 other types, but either way this is by far the best. So yeah that is going really well right now.

So now it's March and March is almost done at this point. This year is already flying by which is a good thing for me because the sooner the year is over the sooner I'm done school. Already though this month I've been to New York for the first time in my life, got to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style, Played a shit-ton of Super Smash Bros. and in a week and some days will be back in Philly. Here's to hoping that things stay this way.

I'm going to end this post with some extra pics for you.

Army of cymbal monkeys

Old Sad Seal

Artsy Flower Shit
